Huge congratulations go to one of Montfort’s leading financial advisors and team members, Alex Norwood, on the passing of his Pensions Specialist qualification late last year. As one of the most-technical and prestigious exams to pass within the IFA community, this qualification will now allow Alex to sign off pension transfer reports for defined benefit pension schemes.

Joining the ranks of Montfort’s Eugen Neagu and Neil Clarke who have also passed this exam, in addition to Geraint Davies and Jonathon Webb who hold the equivalent G60 qualification, Alex is now able to ensure optimum pensions advice directly to his clients. As one of Montfort’s key areas of expertise, Alex’s success further cements Montfort as one of the UK’s leading pensions transfer specialists, with particular attention to overseas transfers.

“I am thrilled to have passed the Pensions Specialist qualification with it being a major step in my career progression, both personally and for my client base. Passing the exam first-time round was a huge achievement and so it’s fantastic to add this to my qualifications. I definitely enjoy working with pensions however I see this as just the start of furthering all areas of my wider financial expertise to master all elements in the near future”, says Alex Norwood.

Alex is now focusing his studies on the AF8 (Retirement Income Planning exam) which is a coursework module incorporating three assignments to be completed within 12 months. Having already submitted one of the three assignments, Alex is rapidly on his way to completing all requirements by February this year. After which, Alex must pass one further advanced examination and one diploma examination to achieve his Chartered status. As the pinnacle of financial planning, Montfort is beyond excited and supportive of Alex’s journey to the top!
