Why Montfort
The ME Principle
Financial planning should begin with you: your priorities, your circumstances and the life you are trying to build. The ME Principle is the simple idea behind everything we do, that the plan is shaped around the person, not the other way around.
Financial planning should begin with you
Most financial advice starts with a product and works backwards to justify it. We start with the person. Before we talk about pensions, investments or tax, we want to understand what matters to you, what you are working towards and what is keeping you up at night.
That means the first conversations are about your life, not your portfolio. The numbers matter, but they only make sense once we understand what they are for.
What the ME Principle means in practice
It means one named adviser who knows your situation, not a call centre. It means advice that connects the different parts of your financial life rather than treating each one in isolation. It means a plan that is written for your circumstances and updated as they change.
It also means we will tell you when doing nothing is the right answer. Putting you at the centre of the plan sometimes means protecting you from unnecessary activity.
How it connects to the rest of our approach
The ME Principle is the belief. The FISIC Framework is how we put it into practice, a structured way of understanding your whole financial picture, including the international complexity many of our clients carry. The two work together: the principle keeps the plan personal, the framework makes sure nothing is missed.
